Thanks......
 It's just, it always takes me so long to write what I'm thinking, so I just read what someone else writes, and I agree. Don't get many posts that way. *sigh*

3. Start a post that makes people laugh. It's the only way I ever
made it over 1000. I was languishing before that. Or you could just reply to everyone who ever replies to you. That's the best way...

8. sure but Kennedy is still "it"
likely doesn't know this yet, I have no idea about rules, gonna have to think some up, thinking is not one of my stronger talents so I am open to notions. My first notion: I am not in charge of the notion dept.

12. 2nd notion:
The person who is it can tag other children, but only 1 tag per thread. Adults absolutely not allowed! Reach 1000 and ya get booted!
No "Grup"s allowed. Too many notions... my heads hurts, someone find kennedy, I wanna play!

17. ref: Star Trek,
The original one with Kirk and Spock and etc. There was an episode where a terran colony was plagued by a virus which killed off all the adults. The remaining children called adults "Grups" (Short for Grown-Up), or at least that is how my memory has it. The children did not like Grups and where known to perform a ritual called "BAM BAM on the head" to any Grups who mighta wondered into their game-play. (might be another useful notion....I kinda thinking that this game may have some legs to it, gettin even with some of the Grups around here for starts)

22. I'd stay away from that colony,
I do not remember if Doc McCoy ever got around to curing that virus, you might get Bam Bam on the head. That is there, this is here...... DU-Tag needs a differing age marker: posts under 1000, un-affected by Terran Solar years. (btw: I remember back when I could say that I was almost 50....) You are making me think, thinking turned kids into Grups....no fair we must find kennedy!

30. Hmmm, lemme see...some ideas for rules for DU-tag
1. Anyone under a 1000 posts can join by simply putting (TAG) at the end of at least one post in the Lounge and ONLY the Lounge (how many (TAG)'s you decide to insert is up to yourself...are you a daredevil?)

2. He or she who is 'IT' must search for these posts that end with (TAG).

3. He or she who is 'IT' can tag you by simply replying to the post(s) described in 1. with a post which has the subject line '(TAG), you're IT!', after which the tagged of course takes on the roll of tagger.

4. Posts that have been tagged once can't be tagged again. IOW, If you see a reply '(TAG), you're IT!', that/those (TAG)'s become invalid and the tagger in question will have to search for another (available) (TAG).

5.If you reach a 1000 posts you're out of the game (win/lose, that's a matter of interpretation). Remove (TAG)'s if necessary by editing the post(s).

6. No way in hell that this little game is gonna keep being "organized", so expect a lot of taggers and hide your (TAG)'s well (or badly if a 1000 posts is your objective )

Any comments?

Anyway...somebody's gotta start...so here it is........(TAG)

21. It has finally cooled off
Edited on Tue Sep-06-05 07:41 PM by Left_Winger
with temps in the 80s and I'm back at work. If I haven't mentioned it to you, I'm a high school teacher and for the most part things are going well. I'm planning a trip for some of my students to southern Germany and Austria next spring. Can you guess which subject I teach?

Are you a beach bum? I am. My family has a house at Litchfield Beach, SC and I spend most of my summer vacation there. It's quiet, natural and with a state park to block the expansion of Myrtle Beach.

I'm almost out of the 700 club. :bounce:

You teach German, IIRC...

I'm not really a beach bum....once in a while I like to walk on our sidewalk (The Strand) which fronts the beach; there are fab homes along there....

Your vacation home sounds wonderful...I never get tired of looking at the water...now and then you'll see the dolphins playing or even surfing out there....

Congrats on your soon-to-be escape from the 700 Club!

25. Here's a pic of our beach
Lots of sand, dunes, sea oats and surf, but quite secluded; no pavement except for the roads which go to the houses which are at least 200 feet from the dunes. We have some dolphins, but mostly the pelicans and seagulls provide the entertainment. I rather enjoy watching wild birds. We even have sea turtle colonies; and the most dangerous thing is the crabs which can make a moonlight walk on the sand dodgy. Oh yeah, I forgot about the alligators in the ponds and lakes throughout the area. Usually, they just sun themselves and leave the people alone.

Yes, German is correct. The trips to Germany and surrounding areas is my summer job, however these trips only last about two weeks so I have about ten weeks at the beach to relax.

27. I lived in Germany off and on for about a decade...
.... I was an Army brat. Last time I was there it was my turn to be in the army. We had a program where soldiers were given tdy (temporary duty) by being placed individually with a german family for 2 weeks. I got to stay on a farm in a small village. I spoke a little german back then, this helped. What a beautiful and enlightened country Germany is. Such a rich history and those churches and castles.... now I want some schnitzel.

33. My time in Germany came as a student...
right after the fall of communism when I attended a university in the former East Germany. I never had the opportunity to reside with a German family as one of the forms of compensation provided to me was my own apartment (more like a large hotel room). I was, however, adopted by a family in Dessau and spent much time in that area of Germany.

I am a vet as well. I served in the Marines and went on NATO maneuvers in 1976 and 1978 in northern Germany and Norway (among others... it seemed as if I had joined the Navy with all the sea time I accumulated). My only other time overseas with the military was with the FMF Pacific, 7th Fleet (Okinawa, Philippines, Thailand, Indian Ocean, etc).

39. Suggestion: Start a free association thread and just keep replying
to the words.

You get dozens of posts that way, and they're all one word. Easy peasy.

Post something like: "Okay, it's time for a free association thread. I'll start: Schnitzel." Take it from there.
