Katrina Rage

OK, we have been doing all we can to help the victims of the rage of Katrina, Well, in the parts of the country that *aren't* New Orleans, there is a much less dire but more widespread phenomenon, which I am now naming "Katrina Rage."

This is defined in the relevant medical literature as "the uncontrollable urge to collar your near and dear as well as complete strangers and start explaining in loud tones and with copious amounts of profanity exactly what you think of George W. Bush's so-called 'government's so-called 'response' to Hurricane Katrina."

I am not sure exactly how to manage this. Perhaps we should make up a couple hundred thousand Bush voodoo dolls, in honor of our destroyed fellow-countrymen, and ship them out to Katrina rage sufferers across the nation.

to provide Bush with cover, so it ain't all Faux. ABC news did a short piece on "blame for the poor response" and so did "48 hours" and they both went after the mayor and the governor and were positive about Bush (he cut short his vacation by 2 days (wow, almost 7%! (my own vacation was only 4 days long total, and I do not make $400,000 a year))) and they both gave him a 30 second un-rebutted sound bite on how he was going to investigate "what went right and what went wrong". Etc. Etc. Ad nauseum.

6. I was talking to some people at work today

who I've never had a political conversation with before- and every single one was outraged by the response from our government to the hurricane victims. Really angry at Bush, even people who voted for him.

I've upgraded my usual bush speech flick offs to a double flick off - two hands free - works if I'm not carrying a beverage - since I have been drinking more. My daily language is in the gutter. I pulled more weeds today than have been pulled all summer - good therapy. And my husband now understands why I am addicted to these forums. I just don't get it. It doesn't seem to be that difficult to understand what needs to be done. In practice, it might be hard to accomplish - but the solution to this situation is not that hard.
