Great songs in commercials...
My vote for one of the greatest songs in a commercial goes to the Barilla Pasta commercial with the song in the background that's all in Italian...you know the one? It's fantastic! I FINALLY found out who sings it and what the title is:

Andrea Bocelli - "Mille Lune Mille Onda"

What's YOUR vote?

1. I like the Vonage Commercials Song
Those are the commercials where someone does something incredibly painful/destructive, like running into a screendoor, or making a tree fall on their car....

"Woohoo woohoohoo woohoo woohoohoo...woohoo wohoohoo..."

(it's by the 5678s, a Japanese band, and they also performed this song in Kill Bill Vol. 1)

:headbang:

16. That's a funny little song
One of my clients, who has profound MR, will sometimes sing along with that when it is on.

31. My husband likes to sing along to it too
But he starts singing too early, and though he has many talents, singing is not one of them, alas. But I love him anyway. :)

5. 100 Years. I must say, though, that I HATE that it's being used
in a Chase commercial.

14. What is that song/artist in the Chase commercial?
I've heard the song many times, but don't know who or what it is. I really hate that song, and I just want to know who it is so I can avoid their music.

30. You mean 100 Years? There are several different songs used
in various Chase commercials (the one I loathe the most is "Wind Beneath My Wings").

100 Years is by Five For Fighting.

19. Here's some of the lyrics...
MILLE LUNE MILLE ONDE

Svegliati amore mio
Che la notte è già passata
Svegliati vieni qua fra le mie mani
Nasce il sole

Non pensare al passato
Quanta nebbia c’è là
Stringimi e parlami ancora
E vedrai si rivivrà

English translation:

A THOUSAND MOONS A THOUSAND WAVES

Wake up my love
The night’s already over
Wake up come here in my arms
The sun is rising

Don’t think of the past
All the mists that lie there
Hold me tight and talk to me again
And you’ll see we’ll live again

I LOVE this song!

So, did you live in Rome or was it a vacation. Either way, I'm jealous ;)

Greekspeak and I spent 10 days in Rome in March. It was a FANTASTIC trip! Rome is AMAZING! If you ever get a chance to go, DO IT!

24. I've come close, but never made my way to Rome.
There are just so many amazing places on this globe to visit. And every time I visit a new place I end up wanting to move there :)

Well, one day, when finances allow, I'll make it to Rome. Until then I'll just re-watch "Roman Holiday" for the 100th time.

I would be great to live there! The language barrier would have to be bridged though.

26. It wouldn't take long to learn it...
Once you're immersed in a place where everyone speaks the language you catch on quick. I speak several languages (some better than others), but only because I actually had to use them at one time.

27. Yes, I know...
We actually met a girl from Alabama who was giving tours of St. Peter's Basillica. When I asked what she was doing, she said she was just giving tours and living in Rome! I was SO glad to find her too! She was great!

Italy's less than a couple of hours by plane from here - and is probably my favourite country (after England, obviously).

Italian food, Italian music, Italian clothes - got them all.

Italian art, Italian architecture, Italian men - lusted after them all

Edit typo.

12. Radio commercial: Check Into Cash
"You've got a cash emergency, you've got a money mayday.
We take your personal check, and then we hold it till your payday."

Great song, great singer.

15. It's massively over-rused, and not technically a song
but Carmina Burana really does kick arse - even when it's just the wee little bit that they use.

18. I liked that one where they had Air Supply singing "Air That I Breathe"
Then they suddenly changed the singer for some reason and I didn't like it as much. I can't remember what the commercial was for.
