Been on location since July 28th. Only 400' left to drill, we're at 14262' measured depth now. That's a lot of drill pipe. Gonna order like 17 pizzas and drink a truck full of Newcastles.

2. Why I'm drilling

for natural gas. There's a lot of work nowadays. Guess I should clarify, I'm not actually doing the drilling, that's what drillers and roughnecks are for ;) . I'm doing the wellsite geology. But still, it's been a long hitch.

3. What an interesting occupation

Sounds exciting, if nothing else.

I sit in a basement for 4.5 hours per day. No kidding.

I pray that I get into grad school.

looking at cuttings of dirt. j/k....I find my work immensely satisfying, I get to use the skills I busted my ass to get by going to school. Ethically, though, I just wish that people would quit demanding cheap convenient carbon based energy, and put me outta work, ya know?
