10. That is what REAL photojournalism looks like.
No propaganda, just photos that tell a story.

12. So amazing-- how slowly it all happened...
like the frog who sits there and gets boiled to death because he didn't realize the water's heating up slowly... there was so much time...

and those looters...

You know something, I don't blame them at all...

My god, they knew the city would be underwater and they'd be left with nothing. What good would those shoes do then?

I'd sure as hell try to find something I could hock for cash for a breakfast or lunch if I got out alive...

just :wow:

20. Thank you for that insight! I've been telling people for weeks.
If you're dirt poor and have no money and no prospect of getting money, no job, no phone, no food, all your family in the same situation and no where to go outside of the city, but you're still hoping to get out.....

do you take a loaf of bread or a color tv?
cans of peaches or cigarettes and alcohol?
cleaning supplies or diamond rings?

Why doesn't anyone seem to get it that these people KNEW there weren't going to be any jobs, money, health care, or relief, because there hasn't really been any for years anyway?

16. See this pic?
His caption is "Help was coming in from everywhere."
This is on "Day 4" (Wednesday 8/31 by his counting).
Was this DHS?
Was this FEMA?
Was this the Federal Govermnent coming to the rescue?
Or is it National Guard forces under the auspices of that lazy-ass Democrat Kathleen Blanco?

Seriously, this is an honest question, although I'm sure it sounds sorta biased. ;)

19. Amazing...
great documentation of the tranformations in how the hurricane was experienced. Hearbreaking, too, to see places like the French Quarter seemingly escape serious damage and then ... those hellish waters rise.
