...so very wrong about the Second Amendment. "A well-regulated militia being necessary" is not a conditional, nor was it ever intended that way. The right to bear arms doesn't go away just because your state or federal gov't puts together an army--those armies are part of what the Second Amendment is there to protect you against. You're supposed to be able to put together your own militia, whenever you feel the need.

Her notion that a handgun or rifle won't protect you against a SWAT team is spurious. It's some protection, Randi, not a magical force field. It's a last resort.

I don't want a gun in my house, either, despite my having once qualified as an expert marksman in the Army. Recent trends, though, have me leaning toward so equipping myself, and the Second Amendment is a basic liberty that must not be taken away. Randi, when you rant against the right to bear arms, you become one of those Democrats you decry.
