18. That was my first thought...LOL!
No wonder men have a contest for the "tallest" building. It's just like the other contest they had in the locker room as teenagers.

4. Yes, but it is a tower, not a building
Towers are in a different class of structure. CN only has two or three floors of usable space.

I've been up the CN Tower, BTW, and the view is beautiful.

9. I was lucky, the one time I went up it a lighting storm occured
Actually, it was a hell of a storm I remember the Subway station flooded... water was coming down the stairs so fast it looked like a fountain.

I have some shots of it up over at Webshots that I took about 5 years ago.

I tried a link to the pics, but they weren't showing up. Check out the shots at the webshots locale:

14. Go to the "Space pod"...
...that's the smaller observation deck at the very top.

Stand on one foot and close your eyes... you can feel the CN Tower swaying, even when there's no wind.

Plus the floor is clear lexan, so you can stand on it and look down. Brrrrrr...

Not really my thing, as I'm not big on heights...

20. I agree
It's even worth the extra $8 (Canadian) to go up there.

For those not in the know, it's the little ball you can see about halfway between the main floors and the top of the structure.

6. Here's the poop
From a disgruntled Chicago architect. The way they measure is to the top of the structure. For Taipei and Petronas the onnamental spires on top are considered "structure" whereas on the Sears Tower, those are not spires but antennae, therefore considered an "add-on" rather than part of the original structure.

Caused quite the uproar in these parts when the others went up and got whatever "official" tall building organization who decides such things to add another category for the highest habital floor, so Sears is back in the lead in that anyway.
