My freeper dad - a funny little story

My dad used to be liberal, until he got sober 25 years ago (I guess he could not reconcile liberal values with working in the Military Industrial complex...so he changed his values...)

Now he is a total wingnut...became a born-again Xtian, listens to Limpballs, watches Faux Snooze, loves *.

I really try not to get into political arguments with him, since neither of us are going to change each other's minds, and just basically to keep the peace.

Mr KW and I dropped the kids off at my folks' so we could go out for our anniversary and my dad had the TV on, I think he was watching the NBC early evening news. Obviously, something about the relief and rescue efforts (or lack thereof by our government) came up. He starts yelling at the TV something to the effect of, "when is someone going to step up and take leadership?"

It took everything in my being not to respond by asking him why his president has not taken any leadership.

Freepers are frustrating people.

My dad, a Korean War vet, a racist and a big Pat Buchanan/Bill O'Reilly fan, told me he thinks W is quite possibly the anti-christ...

But when I sobered up, some 22 years ago...

Well, I went all the way to the Green Party....

Now I am safely in the Bosom of the democratic party once again, where I belong....
