I had to go to the hospital last night
I was worried about some swelling in my feet, and my insurance company's ask a nurse line told me to get it looked at ASAP. It was nothing, just some dependent edema from sitting in a hot dorm room, all the while drinking and eating really salty snacks.

I'm fine now, but that was a scare for me. I konow that it could have been potentailly something serious.

The swellings gone now, thank the gods.

2. Scared the fuck out of me, I can tell you.
I was scared that they'd have to put me in surgery or something. The thought of being put out by general anesthesia has always scared me.

3. Glad you're OK now.
Word of advice about ankle edema and sitting for long periods: (I know because mine swell sometimes.)

If at all possible, sit with your legs propped up, at least parallel w/ your lap.

If you must sit at a desk, make sure your feet touch the floor. Should be OK for a guy. Me? I'm short, so chair hieght matters. The reason is you want to make sure the chair doesn't press on the back of your thigh; this is what causes circulation to cut off. If I'm sitting at a desk, I use a foot stool.

6. I was sitting for a long time last night
I ws going through the middle of Season one of House, M.D. at the time.

Right now, I've got the second garbage can flipped over and a pillow on top of it propping up my leg.
