How about some hangover remedies?
Bleh. I'm getting old. I can't drink like I used to, and even a few beers leaves me nearly incapacitated the next day. I've taken aspirin and had coffee, but I still feel kind of swirly and trembly.

Any magic cures you guys know of?

1. My husband
used to be able to drink a few beers, but when he hit is late 40's that changed. He would feel like crap the next day, even if he only drank one beer. He just stopped drinking beer. He thinks he might have developed an allergy to something in the beer. Why else would just one beer make him feel so bad. He tries to drink one now and then, but with the same bad results.
I don't know about a cure for a hangover, but maybe you should just quit. Is that an option?

5. Maybe I should quit on the beer, but I love it so!!!
I'm not close to my late 40s, but starting around age 27 or 28, this has been happening. Maybe not from one beer, but I used to be able to drink a LOT. Now any more than 2 or 3 and I end up regretting it.

I also seem to get drunk much more easily, which I don't like.

10. Then your only other
options are to cut back and slow down on the ones you drink. Find out how many you can drink without feeling like crap. Make that your limit and then switch to something non-alcoholic for the rest of the evening. As my son alway says: sometimes you just have to say f*ck it--and move on.

11. Why on earth do you drink to the point you get a hangover? You might want
to assess your situation for an addiction problem with beer and alchohol.

The hangover is telling you that you're poisoning your body; it's the reaction of your liver and your bloodstream suffering from the toxins of the booze.

A realistic self assessment is in order.

Might want to check out AA.

Big hugs, reality checks SUCK.

14. Excuse me, you have no idea how much I drank.
I get a hangover very easily. Please don't be so judgmental. Maybe a "realistic self assessment is in order" for that quality in yourself.

15. Lots of water before you go to bed
at least one full (8-12oz or more) glass for each beer you had. It is the dehydration that gets you.

16. Second the water
Lots of water before bed and continue the following day. Coffee's not such a great idea - it's just one more toxin (caffeine) in your system.

Take a shower, drink some water and go outside for a walk. The fresh air will go a long way toward reviving you.

17. Water.
And food and aspirin. While you are drinking.

I think most of a hangover is dehydration, so lots of water before, during and after.

26. That sounds insteresting.
I'd never heard of that one before. At my age (50) it takes very little alcohol now to give me hangover type symptoms. Three beers can do it.

I'm going to try the Yoohoo cure. :)

27. I know it sounds silly.
I love Yoohoo anyway.

But I noticed when I drink it after imbibing too much it seemed to help.

It is fortified with vitamins and minerals, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Or maybe I'm just nuts.

21. Water before you sleep is essential.
While drinking you should also have a glass of water for every 4th beer. Water is everything, have some when you wake up and then eat something in an hour or two. Works for me every time.

But if you must, drink plenty of water while you are drinking....

The hangover is due to dehydration......
