And I don't even type the right way, but I've done it this way (I totally tought myself, and I've only ever used computers, never learned on a typewriter) for 25 years, so I've gotten really fast at it.

Some letters I use different fingers for depending on what letter comes before it.

Such as "You were there when I really bought the farm" - the first "Y" was my right hand index, the second "y" was my left hand index finger.

I also only use my index and middle fingers on each hand to type, and use only the left pinky to "shift", and do the space bar with my thumbs.

It's totally fucking sloppy, and totally inefficient - my hands are flying all over the place all the time - but I can touch type at 65-75 in this style.

7. I'm not fast, but I'm accurate.

Last time I tested, I did 41 wpm with no errors.

If I am typing thoughts from my head I can go along about 40-50 wpm. Otherwise, maybe ten. I've never had a typing class/lesson in my life. I cannot look at the screen while I'm typing; I must see the keys and that is considered bad form or so I'm told.

I used to be a lot faster - somewhere in the 80 - 85 range - but I make more mistakes now which slows me down. Carpal tunnel and arthritis. :shrug:
