DUers with older cats
Do you feed them senior food? I just had a run in with the manager at my local grocery store who told me that there was no demand or need for senior cat food. I always have switched my furkids to senior food around age 7. I have to believe that at least 25-30% of the cats in the country have to be over age 7. If I have to, I will continue to buy my 17 yr old cat's food at the pet store, I am definitely not feeding her the regular stuff.

1. What a moronic manager
Great customer service skills. Had that been my store, my manager would have found out if it was available through our warehouse and simply special ordered it for you regularly. Why lose a sale just to be a pompous asshole?

My cat is 11 and eats regular food. I've had animals on senior food but mostly when they start showing signs of aging (which Oops has not) or when my vet recommended it.

2. I couldn't kill a cat even if I ran over it.
My mother's cat just died at 21. A bitchy one-eyed beast. Every day for 21 years Little Friskies, plus a can of wet cat food Christmas and Easter. My two other elderly cats, 17 and 18, Little Friskies every day plus the holiday food. They died several years ago.

Got two now, 13 and 14, same crap. All are hunters. Got two others, possibly five and ten, same crap, All eat birds and mice. The bad boy (21 lbs.) has been known to eat an ocassional rabbit.

3. My 16 year old eats like a little pig
She gobbles down her Fancy Feast, Sheba and still munches all day on her dry food. She'll turn her nose up at cheaper food. AND she especially likes whatever we're eating, especially if it's New York strip.
