At least, not until several hours later when a complete stranger called my house asking for me.
I went to the library after work (about 1:30 this afternoon) and apparently dropped my wallet outside somehow without noticing. Just in a hurry and juggling books and wallet and keys...
Came home and logged on and I was blissfully wasting time on DU while this woman was trying to call me and getting a busy signal! She figured I was frantically trying to locate it - got a good laugh when I told her I hadn't even realized it was gone! I'm glad I didn't know until she called - I would have been freaking out.
The amazing thing is that we live within a mile of each other - not in town but out in the sticks. Practically neighbors in "country" terms. She found my phone number on my checks (EVERYTHING was in there - checkbook, credit cards, driver's license, even my SS card AND a copy of my birth certificate!).
Thank goodness for good people! Everything was intact - the receipt for the gas I bought today was still tucked in it! Oh, and she's a good Dem (of course).
I brought her two good bottles of wine to say thank you - a white and a red - since I have no money to reward her honesty with.
