This is true: 'bout ten years a go when I worked at the Record Exchange, some spooky teenaged girl came in looking for a recent Tori CD and asked me where she'd find it. I said look under "A" for "Amos." (and I almost said anus because my fellow employees and I had gotten into the habit of referring to her as "Torn Anus.") So she found what she wanted and when I was unlocking the case for her, it occurred to me that I'd seen a used copy in back that hadn't been filed yet. So I tell the spooky girl "hold on a sec, I could SWEAR I saw a used copy in back - maybe I can save you a few bucks." Well, the chick flipped -- her already-spooky eyes about tripled in diameter and she challenged me thusly: "WHY WOULD SOMEONE RETURN A TORI CD? HUH? WHY?" Like it was the ultimate personal betrayal that someone she didn't even know disliked an album by an artist she was clearly WAY too into. Tori-chicks are fucked up, man. They're not ALL that off the deep end, but I resolved on that day never to date a Tori Amos fan. That resolution has worked out extremely well for me.
