Since Lew Grade's horror films are becoming hot property in the blockbuster remake genre (Wicker Man with Nicholas Cage, for one), This gem needs to be remade.
If you don't know it, it's a great Richard Burton/Lee Remick feature, in which an author (Burton) has the power to destroy anything with his mind.
Set in London, the movie begins with Burton watching news coverage of a NASA accident in which a manned mission is lost; the audience is let to believe he had something to do with it.
Some unknown person comes in to his apartment, and bashes his skull in with a pewter figurine of Napoleon. He's apparently dead.
While the police are examining the murder scene, Burton begins breating again, and is rushed to hospital.
The hospital is swamped, as a jumbo-jet has just crashed into an apartment building, killing hundreds... again, Burton's character is obviously behind the tragedy.
I won't give the rest away, but, man, what you could do with modern film-making techniques! So many great opportunities for biblical-scale disasters! Plus it would be a good role for someone like Christian Bale or Jude Law.
