4. The website I had contacted telephoned - asked if I still wanted to offer

a room/shelter to someone? I answered in the affirmative and he said,
"Hold on I'll connect you to someone who is looking".
I was then connected to a woman who is looking for a room for an elderly lady (in her 60's) who was left homeless by Katrina. It hurt me to have to listen to the woman tell me "She's black" - (AS IF I CARED!!) - but it's sad that we still have to share those kinds of things right off the bat. Anyway, it seems this woman has just arrived in the Bay Area today. The woman on the phone is a friend of this woman's family and is trying to find a place where she can 'light' for a while until she makes decisions as to where she will end up finally. The woman I spoke with would like to take her in as well, but doesn't have the room. She is going to speak with
'Henrietta' to see how she feels about this idea and I'm waiting to hear something back.
In the meantime, I have fluffed up the feather bed and laundered sheets and ironed the pillow cases with lilac water.

I hope someday we're at a point where we could do something like this. Right now we're a family of 4 in less than 1000 sf. No room!

5. I know - my daughter moved out a couple of months ago - so it

would be unkind of me not to at least offer a free bed to someone.
