And it was only $15! So it's a cheap risk, as far as coffeemakers go. Just have a tea kettle handy to heat the water, otherwise, it's low tech!

If you have a grinder, grind the beans very coarsely. Or if you have them ground for you, ask for a coarse grind. Otherwise, the pre-ground stuff is too fine.

But they are all similar - the mesh filters should all be similar. As long as the glass is Pyrex, you will do okay. I have a stainless steel filter system and stainless steel lid and plunger. The brand is Arcosteel.

I got mine at a supermarket! They are available at coffee specialty stores and bed/bathroom/kitchen stores, or department stores. :-)
