We had both been on here a long time (me since 2001, she since 2002), and maybe interacted a few times here and there. But sometime during the Democratic Convention last summer, she started to regularly appear in my coffee threads. It was the evolution of a natural friendship, and I don't think either of us saw what was coming right away, lol. :-)

By the end of October, we were chatting on the phone for hours on end...

And then the rest is history. :bounce:

11. That's kind of like us.

We've both been here since 2002 and last year went through some rather parallel experiences with divorce after being married about the same length of time, subsequent relationship stuff, etc. We opened up to each other privately well over a year ago, but as friends and nothing romantic. We'd drop a line here and there in a "How're you doing?" kind of way.

We understood what the other was going through. He's about the only man on here that I knew reasonably well that I could have been open to a relationship with given a lot of factors- compatibility, both available, fairly close geographic proximity. He expressed an interest a few months back of wanting to get to know me a little more, so one night in early June, we talked. Then we talked a couple days later (and almost every day since). Then we met a couple weeks after that. Since then, we get together just about every week for at least a day or two each week.

At first I thought, "We'd go out a little and have fun." It's evolved into something a lot more. I was rather hurt and jaded on the entire subject of relationships and probably needed a lot to actually let myself love someone again. He gives that to me without reserve.

I don't have much to add to what Sarah said, but DU relationships CAN happen.

Now I have to go to bed. Tomorrow's my day off, and I'm driving up at four in the morning so that I can be there when she gets home from work at eight. I have to return home to work on Friday morning. :-(

Every second with her is a second that I feel absolute happiness. I found my soulmate (just when I had given up on the idea), and I'd be a fool not to show her how much she means to me every chance I get.
