Ok...list athletes you want to hate...but just can't...

For me:

Shaquille O'Neal - George Mikan thing was a class act

Roger Clemens - he is so f'in good I just can't hate him...even though I think he is a bit of a blowhard

Cal Ripken - Hated him when he won Rookie of the Year over Kent Hrbek (that still sticks in my craw), but the guy is so classy in public I just couldn't stay mad

i hated him even when he was on the Yankees and i'm a die-hard. at spring training i saw him blow off children who wanted autographs, rudely mind you.

8. Brett Favre, cos he's a Cheesehead

but he is such a regular guy and such a wonderful quarterback I just can't bring myself to dislike him. He's the kind of guy who would have played for $50/game in a leather helmet back int the 1930s.

Shaq - for such a hyped athlete he has retained a sense of humor about himself and he puts a lot of money into charitable causes. He comes across as a big, goofy kid sometimes, but he appreciates the things he has obtained in life.

Derek Jeter - because he's rich, good-looking and a Yankee - but he's too much of a class act to dislike.

I make sure that I feel the opposite of what local sports media writers are telling me.

I really wanna hate him for dissing his team, but at the same time, I understand that he has an anxiety problem. Plus, he's a great running back!

I can't think of an athelete I hate. Closest would be Robin Ventura, because of his rushing Nolan Ryan. Yeah, when I do hate, I don't let go! :-)
