Poll question: Which is worse?

I go nutso when someone tells me "we need to talk" or "I have something to tell you" or some other variation on that theme. But, I have no problem walking past a gift with my name on it and not even being remotely curious about it.

So, I'm asking: which is worse for you?

On edit: I really worded that badly. I meant to include the phrase, "but not right now" - THAT'S the part that makes me crazy.

1. What's even worse is when they ask you to sit down first.

Way to instantly stress me out!

And then there was the totally baffling (before cell phones, at least) question when someone would call on the phone and say "where are you right now?"...Uhhhhh, I'm at home, in my kitchen, where the phone is...but that would drive me crazy for different reasons.

"No, we don't." And then I'd go away.

10. HA! "We need to talk, but not right now"

is EXACTLY what my ex-wife said to me the day before we broke up! In fact, my ex-girlfriend in college said nearly the exact same thing before the two times WE broke up!

They should just put that phrase in the dictionary: "we need to talk" really means "I can't stand you anymore and I'm dumping your ass".

13. For me, it's the "we have to talk..."...but it has been a

long time since I heard it...

Although I DID say it to my husband not too long ago....And it was nothing serious, but he didn't like hearing that phrase anyhow...
