I was going through this thing they have that matches your skills with what they have in the Navy to fit that.

As soon as I saw the word "combat" reality hit and I was done, it's not that I'm scared of it, I'd like to be a war correspondent eventaully. It's just that it occured to me I may be responsible for killing people... I have no problem killing a guy who's got a gun to my Mom's head or something. But to just launch an explosive into some village hoping it hits its mark... that was a bit too sobering.

Of course if it were my skills I would be doing something like PR...but PR for the guy that accidentally blew up a village?

Nah, I think not

Guess I'll have to wait for open tours, fair HMCS Winnipeg

4. I believe that Canada is highly regarded for peace-keeping operations.
I doubt that they're about to join an invasion of Iran or something like that.

5. agreed.
that's what a first world army should do, bring peace, not blow things to pieces.

i think they've got a thousand or so troops in Afghanistan - i'm going to see if i can find out more about their armed forces after finishing this post.
