Am I the only one that hopes there is no heaven?
I mean, really the thought of being consicous for eternity is awful to me. But I get bored easily.

I hope when I die, it's lights out.

1. I'm with you. I really don't want to go to Heaven. Pat Robertson says
he'll be there. At least now I avoid seeing him.

3. If there is a
heaven, I doubt if P.R. will be there. I don't think God likes people who put contracts out on other people.

4. Admit it though
It would be fun standing inside the proverbial gates looking at a shitload of fundies whining that they can't get in because of how much they hated people their whole lives.

7. It's not lights out, it's into the archive.
Every so often someone will look you up.

Better than sex if you are a dead guy.

9. My hope is there is a heaven. And when Pat Robertson
is standing at the Pearly Gates, St. Peter and God are standing there arm in arm and God says...
Pat, they got it wrong...I did say Adam and Steve.

GO TO HELL!!!

And that's Hell to me.

12. Don't worry, there is no heaven.
The bad news is, there is a Hell. But there's cable TV there, so it's not really all that bad.

17. I am a little concerned about the boredom factor
If there is a heaven I am certain the schmucks won't be allowed in so it's not the company I'm worried about. I just think it sounds boring.

18. Both ideas are inadequate IMO... it is lights out. but whose to say
either way. All we can do is estimate and conjecture, it is the ultimate mystery.

Me I believe in life. Life goes on. Both metaphorically and physically. Also there is little doubt that life expent has an effect that can be seen and traced. So what remains is physical but what the parts we can't see? What about our life force?

It floats away. So does it think and live? My opinion is my own.

19. How do you know you're already not conscious for eternity?
As in Zeno's Paradox, there are infinite temporal points between any two points in time. If temporal flow is an illusion, which is not impossible, then your life, and in fact every moment, is an eternity. I know that rings true for me sometimes, such as while watching Bush speak tonight.

Or perhaps in Heaven you're not conscious at all, like in a dream. Does bliss require effort? What if, after death, there is nothing but le petit morte? That would be worth dying for.
