Yes, I know, one has nothing to do with the other, except that posting on these pet peeves can get me above 5000.

:hi:

1. People who park an inch behind you on the street
When they have room behind them. I could barely get my car out of my parking spot this afternoon. :grr:

4. Yes, no consideration, these folks.
I usually park a bit out of the way. I can use the exercise, and I don't like people dinging my doors up. Sometimes, there is a jerk who decides to park right next to me when there are plenty of spaces.

3. Those who drive slowly in the far left freeway lane
A special circle in hell is reserved for them.

7. People can do some stupid shit while driving.
Cell phones, reading newspapers, maps, the one that kills me is people putting on makeup or brushing their hair. Argh!!

8. I question whether fast drivers have multiple functioning brain cells
Edited on Thu Sep-15-05 08:46 PM by Awsi Dooger
I travel extensively every summer and the frantic drivers have no clue how much trouble they cause. Virtually every accident I see, plus the near misses, are caused by tunnelvision leadfoot morons who change lanes or zigzag or cut somebody off. The hilarity is actually in city traffic, when I see the light change a couple of hundred yards ahead of me and begin to coast to the red. Predictably, the genius speedballs behind me will honk or flail their arms and change lanes in a huff, so they can barrel full speed ahead toward the red light and stopped traffic a few dozen yards ahead.

9. It's called "situational awareness". The lack thereof causes wrecks.
Every day I see someone just moving into a lane without checking and having to swerve back when a horn's blow lets them know that two objects cannot occupy the same space.

Maybe it's just me, but I have a feeling that cars are surrounding me and I check over my shoulder or in mirrors to double check.

There are some oblivious people out there, and they scare the crap out of me.

11. Yes, I check mirrors and turn my head to look.
It can be troublesome when people hang around in your blind spot, though. A couple weeks ago, I was changing lanes, I looked in the mirror, turned my head, and there was nothing. As I started to change I just saw the front of the car. That freaked me out, because every couple of seconds I look in the rearview and side mirrors anyway to see if anybody is there. This dude must have been hanging there. My fault though, I waved that it was my bad.

I wave at people when they let me in traffic, too, like merging on the interstate. Too many times I have let people in, and they don't have the courtesy to just take a second and wave.

12. I just seem to have a feel when a car is around.
 In cases like that I usually don't make my lane change and slow down a bit to see if that car will show itself. :D

Of course, occasionally I'm wrong about a car, but I think in those cases, that car makes a turn. ;)

13. I love when people are in a big hurry to cut in front of you, then they go
10 miles below the speed limit on an interstate, which is pretty dangerous in itself.

Like you were saying, they don't even look, some of them. It takes half a second. LOOK!

:)

10. I will pass people who don't keep with the flow.
But, I don't cut them off. Also, if there is just a bunch of traffic ahead, it makes no sense to pass.

I get aggravated at the laggers who get you stuck at red lights, when all they had to do was keep up with traffic.

16. It seems to be just a California thing, but....
I hate how California drivers will get right on your ass like you're going too slow (because you are), WHILE you're in the slow lane and there is NO other traffic around, and absolutely no reason not to pass. And still they will stay there.

And if you switch to the left lane, then they will zoom past you like there's a rocket strapped to their backs and/or they have to get home quick because they have to pee really bad.

17. Small, yappy dogs.
I'm sorry, but unless your dog barks, it's not a dog. It's an organic annoyance. That's it. I don't know what the correlation is between being a small dog and not shutting the hell up, but I don't care at this point. For those of you enamored with the things, let me buy you a clock whose alarm goes off every three minutes, loudly. Same effect as having a small, yappy dog, except the clock won't shit on the rug.

24. Yes, those bother me too!
And the folks who try to get on the interestate about 25 mph, and you get stuck behind them. Either way, it makes it hard to enter traffic that is going 65+.

19. People who sit at a red light but don't activate their turn signal until..
the light turns green. So you're stuck behind them while they try and
make a left turn.

creep like f*cking snails turning so everyone else has to wait another 3 minutes...

20. Drivers who enter the road in front of you when they could have
waited until you passed. Because you're the only one on the road. And then they go SLOW. I call it a George Bush move.

There was a time when I really enjoyed driving. Before radar, millions of cars, and the knowledge of global warming. Now my Porsche sits in the garage.

22. People who speed up until they are right beside you
then decide to slow down to match your speed, usually right in your blind spot, and usually just as you are trying to switch lanes to turn.

23. okay...
The one that gets me the most is that you are crusing on a highway, going the speedlimit of say, 60mph, and you notice a car up ahead, and they scoot right in front of you in a mad rush hurry, making you slow down, and they were such in a big damn hurry, to go 45mph, when there is no traffic behind you....

25. Oh man, where to start?
Traffic has a way of making or breaking my day.

I can't STAND people who don't turn right on red. They're turning, it's clear, but they appear not to realize they can turn right on red. Or, that you can turn left on red when it's a one-way.

People who block you in when you're parallel parked suck to no end.

People who pull out in front of you and crawl at a snails pace... or better yet, people who go to great lengths to pass you and THEN slow to a crawl should be imprisoned.

I could go on for hours.
