8. We are slowly getting back to normal.

My dad and I cut a tree off of the house today. Have two to go, but we can't cut one until the power company can send someone to help, because it's on the roof over the powerline where it joins the house.

We don't have water, but we do have power. Got lots of clean-up work ahead of us. We are all safe, well, and the house sustained minimal damage.

9. I just got back online today.

My phone charger has been at my house, and my phone has been at my mom's. We had no service the first couple of weeks, so I just said "screw it" with my cell phone. And I haven't been on DU since right after the storm.

We've spent days cleaning up limbs and stuff that was blown around. Just got power back on. So nice to be back on MY couch watching tv. :D

But, forget how I'm doing. How the hell are you? What can I do to help you? Just name it!

12. As we were huddling in my mom and dad's brick home..

and power left us at 9AM, that is the one thing I would have given my right arm to have had--a TV to watch coverage of the storm. We had no idea what we were getting.

Civil Defense here said that we got sustained winds of 110 and gusts of 150. And we are 90 miles north of NOLA.

We still have a way to go, but we can handle it. :hug:
