Ugh, I wish it was still summer and I wasn't back in school.

I know there are a lot of people who have it worse than me, but I'd just like to register a complaint about my professor, and maybe get a little advice.

I am in a Politics and Pop Culture class at my school. It seems like whenever I make a comment about one of the Movies or TV shows we're watching, the professor just says "Oh, okay. Anyone else have any thoughts?" He then proceeds to go into a dialogue with three other students for ten or twenty minutes. The rest usually stat silent.

They don't seem inane to me. For example, I mentioned how in Dr. Strangelove, Ripper's comments about the Soviets polluting our water could have been related to their lax attitude towards enviromental protections. He shrugged it off.

I'm ready just to shut down and do the basic requirements of the course to get an A and leave it at that. Should I, or should I keep trying?
