This is CBS, after all. And leave it to networks to screw up even the coolest shows ("Alias," for one).

Whattya think? Should I escape the horror of our disintigrating country and relinquish my soul to the searing light of the white dot? Will it be worth it?

1. Not sure whether it will be good
or bad but I am going to watch tonight. I'm in the mood to ditch reality for awhile.

I shut it off. Not what I was looking for in terms of entertainment. It was worth a try but it is definitely no "Lost."

Tried watching "Bones" too and thought that sucked as well.

Oh well there is still "Invasion" to try on Wed. And "Closer To Home" to try on Tuesday. It's on against Nip/Tuck but I always tape that any way so I can FF through the gory surgery parts.

9. I want my 120 minutes back!
That was some of the worst acting, writing, and directing that I've ever seen. Worse than CSI Miami!

4. I'm watching.
The only cool thing so far has been Brent Spiner. I like him.

6. There are two alien invasion shows this season
One on NBC and the other on CBS. Is Threshold the one in which they intend to never, ever show the aliens?

If so, there's really gonna be no way to maintain suspense for more than a season or two, unless you just take the straight X-Files rip-off road, and I'm not gonna waste my time w/o a glowing personal recommendation from someone.

7. Actually might be three

TV Guide says that ABC's "Invasion" about strange going's on in a Florida town after a hurricane, has at least one character speculating that aliens might be involved although that is only one of the theories.

Shaun Cassidy who is executive producing said "it is first and foremost a mystery."

8. No, Threshold showed 1/3 of an alien withing 45 minutes.
Funny how they always have a head, two arms, and two legs.

12. Way too Hollywood
You got guys (ostensibly professional sailors) who stand around agog when bad things start happening. No sense of urgency, just open-mouthed amazement.

You've got the fabulously organized government agency ready to spring into action immediately. Uh, did any of these guys research how the gov't really operates? And this sort of "instant government action" looks really lame after watching the real government's actions after Katrina.

And we can never have too many damned screens with useless graphics sprawled across them, now can we?

I loved the digital helicopter shadow that appeared on the deck of the ship. How the hell did the helicopter cast that shadow at night while above the ship?

This sort of shit gives true science fiction a bad name.

but I was bored with it. I'll see what is going up against it on the other channels and decide whether to watch it again.
