Yeah it was a tad slow and disjointed but it was entertaining to the end. Cool soundtrack as well.
And yes it was creepily dark on some levels but what isn't these days?
I wonder where all of the lousy reviews came from?
EDIT: In case I wasn't clear I LOVED IT!

I am a big fan. I guess not everyone likes it though.

I love Wes Anderson. Quirky, fun, occasionally dark. My kind of humour. Great style and acting and whatnot as well.

I felt like I actually got to know the characters, like they weren't just personified concepts, and I really gave a damn about them. That's pretty rare in a movie nowadays.

prepackaged and convenient, like a tube of pringles.
Life Aquatic - and The Royal Tannenbaums - both fucking brilliant.

A similar thread to a substory in The Life Aquatic, interestingly enough.

With every film, I like Wes Anderson less and less.
Rushmore... now that was a great fucking film. Everything he's done since...well...meh.
Part of it is because I can't stand that doofus Owen Wilson.
