It is not worth arguing with him over it, since neither of us is going to change the other's mind...

I had to laugh, though, recently. I dropped my kids off at their house so hubby and I could go have dinner...This was about a week after Katrina hit. He was screaming at the TV about 'why doesn't someone take some leadership?' It took everything in my being not to start into a tirade about Bush and his cronies, and how they have fucked the country in ways too numerous to count. I kept quiet, they were going to watch my children, after all...My mom is a liberal...my dad used to be, but changed when he sobered up.

I have conservative relatives as well. The only way to spend a peacful holiday is to avoid politics completely. My ex's family used to bait me all the time, and that really pissed me off, because I didn't want to go off in their house. Thankfully, my partner's family is a bit more civilized than that, so we all just keep our opinions to ourselves.

I have literally tried to tell him to stop sending me this crap, but he does what he wants to do.

I never send him liberal stuff, because I respect the fact that he has different views. I just wish he offered me the same respect.
