Can anyone answer some questions about Sirius Satellite Radio?
Edited on Sun Sep-18-05 08:58 AM by Pacifist Patriot
My husband is considering buying a receiver but he has a few questions first and heaven knows I have no clue about such things. I thought someone here might have some experience with it.

1. Does it require a long-term contract?

2. Is it portable with a battery power source so you can listen through head phones while you clean the house, mow the lawn, tune out the kids or the in-laws?

3. Is the liberal talk station any good? I know they don't have AAR, but they have NFL and that's really why my husband is looking in to this.

TIA!

1. First off, XM is not owned or controlled by Clear Channel...
...no matter what anybody here says. Just thought I'd get that out of the way, since it's inevitable that it will be brought up. :)

2. Stupid question:
If they don't have AAR, and they don't have NFL, why are you looking into them? Sounds like the other one would be a no-brainer for you.

4. No, not a stupid question. Just a stupid OP. I've edited it to
fix it. That was me making a mistake. My husband wants it FOR the NFL coverage. Sorry, thanks for pointing that out!

3. I have had it for over a year
and except for the AAR issue, I love it. And they do have the NFL. It doesn't require a long-term contract. The Left Talk radio station is pretty good but not AAR. I believe it does have portable capabilities but I haven't used it.
