he's close to 90 years old, his wife is not that far behind him. We get wood from when he has it available. Not the "highest grade" stuff, but it burns and keeps us warm in the winter.
Last year he charged $40 a truck load - amounted to about 3/4's of a cord of wood. This year he's charging $50, when winter hits he says he's going up to $60 a truck load for the "good stuff"
He was apologetic about the hike in his prices,
"Gotta pay for the medicare hike somehow...and for gas for the car, heating oil...", he spits on the ground "and that damn idiot of a president, gonna bankrupt us all."
He's no fan of bush*, last year prior to the sElection - he told us that at church he and his wife prayed that bush* would be voted out.
He shaked his head when we bantered about Katrina - "yeah, and what's he (bush*) gonna do - run us deeper in debt, make the economy even more of a mess - and then he's gonna cut programs that help people like you and me, raise medicare premiums so he can raid it and go start another stupid war or give it to that company cheney use to run. Ya know, I've lived a long time, seen alot of stupid things done by stupid people - but that idiot takes the cake."
