my teenager was ticketed for trespassing

Last night he and his friends walked home from the movies by cutting through his old grade school's ball field. They've done it for years with no problem.

It was 9:40 PM. Some cops pulled over and gave them tickets. Now I have to take a day off from work and bring mine to court next month.

:grr: I can't believe this is what they waste their time on ...

Are there signs up warning "no trespassing?" I can't imagine a judge letting this stand. Good luck, and try not to be too pissed when you get to court.

2. Tell the judge they thought it was a safer route for that time of night.

It seems like every few days I read in the paper or hear on the news about pedos cruising around in their cars through residential neighborhoods looking for kids to pick up.

3. I don't know much about trespassing laws...

but isn't a grade school public property?

If not, isn't it up the the school to press charges?
