If your Jeep doesn't look like this...
...get a Hyundai.

Little used dirt road with a deep mudhole across the road with dust on top masking it...I sunk down the the frame. Took a lot of rocking to get out!

2000 Grand Cherokee. A must on West Virginia dirt (mud) roads!

9. True. 8-) We own a '04 Hyundai :-D AWD Santa Fe that is a "must" ;-) ...
when going uphill through a foot plus of snow and ice in northern NY, :D not to mention the mud that our driveway and the back roads up here turn into when it rains for a bit. The write ups said she wasn't meant for off roading but she certainly has done very well for us when we've gone "exploring" on some wild back roads. B-)

::Knock on wood:: we haven't gotten stuck yet although we had to pull a few folks out of ditches since we bought her "used" just after the Holidays. As a mid-size crossover SUV she rides/drives comfortably, makes it easy to make just 2 trips a month into the city for supplies, is fairly easy for me to get in and out of, tows well and gets rather good gas milage as well (on the last trip downstate we got 29 mpg highway with a very full and heavy load).

Anyway... maybe you should try a Hyundai. ;)

3. LOL
That is one reason I don't wash my big truck too often. It is used hard at the farm, the roads are less than nice part of the year and I need it or I would not have it. I hate people thinking I have it because I wanted a big gas guzzler so I leave it with the mud dried on it.

5. Good looking WJ in its natural habitat... (pic)

I had two WJ's until I recently decided to go back to a sedan after seeing how Chrysler screwed the pooch with the new Grand Cherokee. There's no replacement for solid axles for a 4x4. With the new WK, Jeep has truly become a mall cruiser. If I ever get another Jeep, it will be a used ZJ or WJ.

I thought I was the only Jeeper around. (Well, former Jeeper...)

Here's a picture of the beast the morning after a two-day weekend romp with a local club.

7. Hah! Wouldn't happen to my 4WD Volkswagen Vanagon
Unstoppable, 14" clearance (stock) even climbs 30 degree sand dunes if you let a little air out and lock the rears.

Drive it up to the top of Imogen pass, fix lunch and take a nap on a queen size fold down, can't beat it!

Mine's brown, so you dont see the mud.
