another week started. Germany voted yesterday but we have NO idea who will be our leaders right now. Isn't that great :eyes:

Other than that, I hope you all had a great weekend. I actually cleaned my apt this weekend and was otherwise lazy. All in all a quiet but nice weekend.

and no, we are doing everything by hand still in the election. No machines yet and there is no talk about using any.

I was just reading about the election; this is something. What's your take on all of it?

4. First of all I am more than glad that the CDU and FDP

didn't get more than 50% together. Big win for the SPD. Now who will be our chancellor? No idea. I still fear it is going to be Merkel. After all her party (CDU) got the most votes. But she didn't win as high as she hoped for.

7. for some reason the politicians were all in utter surprise

that it was that close. But if you were listenting to the people a lot wanted a big coalition. It wasn't expected to be that close. When Schröder wanted the new election everybody was sure Merkel would win and with a big head-up. But the SPD came back, partly because of mistakes the CDU and CSU did. Both big parties lost though.

A strong coalition would be the best outcome.

8. I hope so too

but I am not sure a big coalition (CDU and SPD) will be the outcome. They are too different still. We will see. The people did their thing, told the politicians what they want or not, now we are out of all decisions anyway.

I am doing fine myself. Sipping on me tea and slowly start my day.

16. The S.P.D. certainly rallied during the campaign.

At the beginning the B.B.C. were predicting a Chancellor Merkel almost as a certainty.

Now even if she does get into office, I would imagine that her freedom to push through more radical ideas would be greatly circumscribed.

17. Everybody was shocked that Merkel didn't make it

depending which party it was a positive or negative shock. It looks like she is going to be chancellor but sure not with the power she wanted. Which is a win for us. It will be interesting to see if whoever gets chancellor how long this government will be in power. If it is going to be 4 years or shorter.

22. I woke up at 4 this morning.

I heard water rushing, and thought my house had sprung a leak. :( It was hard getting back to sleep after that. Sigh...

I remember when I first moved into my apt, I barely had furniture in it and woke up one night because I heard water running. I ran through the whole apt checking were water was leaking. No where. It was the rain outside and the water pipe is running right next to my bedroom window :eyes:

Everything looked fine. My refrigerator has an ice maker, which makes a running water sound when it re-fills with water, but I thought I had turned it off. Maybe it was subconscious, beccause when I woke up, I had to go potty. :P

dreaming about water and waking up desperatley needing to go for little girls.
At least nothing broke. It would have been worse than waking up because having to go to the bathroom.

it even frightens me as a non-owner. Good thing I live on the top floor. Nobody above me who could run the water forever and it coming through the ceiling.

we are all very curious who will lead us in the next years. I guess it is going to be Merkel with whatever coaltion, unfortunately. The parties will start now talking and trying to figure out who can with who. Crazy situation.
