I want to apologize to the Lounge

I'm very sorry for my outburst last week. I guess I was posting a little too much, and when some people called me on it I reacted very badly. Please accept my apologies and forgive me!!

no one was "snotty". no one meant to hurt her feelings. we were merely trying to point out, when DU is overloaded we cannot be posting 15 threads an hour.

I am sorry if it hurt her feelings, but in my opinion it had to be done. I in no way have any personal animosity against DTBK, and in fact I think she is sweet. I would have spoken out to anyone "spamming" too many threads, especially when the servers are overloaded

many of the comments directed to her were snotty in my book. Most of what I saw was not "we're having bandwidth issues"...instead it was rolled eyes and the like.

And as long as she wasn't getting messages from the actual site administrators telling her to stop due to bandwidth issues...I don't see where it was any of y'all's place to do so.

I said "I do not mean to be rude, but you are posting way too many threads. You have 15 on the first page of the lounge alone." that was it. Then a bunch of people, including several mods, responded with nothing but the :thumbsup: smiley.

this is what DTBK was talking about. She later posted a thread calling us the "kool kidz klub" and told us to fuck off.

In my opinion, that was more nasty than anything I or anyone else wrote that day

and I notice it got deleted pretty damn quick. What DeposeTheBoyKing did in calling people out was wrong...but the people she called out might also want to consider their behavior toward her that day. It was pretty obnoxious at times.

There's a simple solution when you think someone is posting things you don't want to read...DON'T READ THEM.

And there was no "ignore" or hide thread" features" and the servers were already jammed to the max, eliminating many features we all like to use

My 2 cents:
Alerting the admins and mods would have been a much more effective way of dealing with an issue such as this instead of following her around saying SPAMSPAMSPAM (yes, it did happen). But I did notice mods who were getting into the fray, so alerting admins would have been best.

I hadn't seen CStT in a while and wanted to talk with him. Hijacking a thread in the lounge is done pretty routinely. I don't particularly consider it to be a big deal.

And for the people suggesting we "didn't have to read" the threads, that is true, but DU was constantly on Level 2 or higher, and there was no way to hide the superfluous number of unnecessary threads. It was a nuisance, to say the least. Without clicking the threads to read them, they were still clogging up the first few pages of the Lounge.

Now that DU seems back to normal, this shouldn't be an issue for the time being.

This went on for several weeks prior and DU was over loaded, and quite a few people agreed with me about the spamming in private and thought it was out of hand.
I tried to be polite---if I was wrong, I would hope someone would let me know in a nice manner. But it earned me a spot in the "Kool Kidz Klub" (KKK) and a big 'ol "fuck you"

And I don't think Progmom was among the people being snotty; I think she was unfairly lumped in. But the rest of them weren't concerned about rules or bandwidth. I just don't buy it. They could have just alerted instead of repeatedly zinging off oneliners. It was all about being snarky. Not that that's always a bad thing. I certainly can't object being guilty of it myself.

I'm definitely of the opinion that it would be best if people just ignore multiple threads if it bothers them, and I'll admit that I've also noticed dozens of threads daily from you over the past few weeks. I've not had to the time to read much of DU at all lately, so I'll also admit I didn't read any of them.

On the other hand, having now read the thread I guess was the inspiration for this apology linked above, I can understand how someone pointing out the spamming could be misconstrued as criticizing you, when it was really just pointing something out that must have been noticed by others as well. I really didn't see anyone being mean or saying you were posting too much... just that you were possibly creating too many new threads.

All that said... I'm not sure who you're apologizing to, as it seems that some of the people on the thread in question have posted here and you haven't responded to them. I don't think anyone else needs an apology. :shrug:
