anyone who is coming to dc this weekend - can i make you a cd?

i started out collecting some anti war/establishment songs to burn them on cd
and not just the songs you already know but also some kick ass protest songs i dont think many have heard
incl public enemy latest "hell no we aint all right" (in response to katrina catastrophe)

initially i had in mind a du party soundtrack

anyway

then i thought i should make multiple cds
and give them to people this wknd who would appreciate them (maybe one for the person who comes from furthest away and maybe to those who want to give a small donation to "food not bombs" or "best friends" or other grass roots organization that are working in louisiana and those really trying to make a difference for people and animals then that would be cool - but not required)


so i have the usual to choose from like marvin gaye and bob dylan and bob marley and bruce springsteen and tracy chapman etc but also songs from

- bright eyes
- le tigre (you are going to love their song thats based on recent anti war marches)
- arrested development
- jurassic 5
- kanye west (yes i do have the song produced by kanye called "george bush dont like black people")

- afro celt sound system
- afro cuban all stars

- lauryn hill
- mike doughty (of soul coughing) - another specific song against the war "move on"
- N.E.R.D.
- O.A.R.
- ozomatli
- portishead
- sinead o connor (i think she may have a couple things to say that would fit)

you get the idea....
i just want to share some good and possibly important music if anyones interested
