What are little boys make of?
I have a bet riding on this one...

Wife says it's "snips and snails and puppy dog tails."

I say it's "snakes and snails..."

We're decorating her new children's store & want to use that line for the boy's section. Loser has to paint.

4. I've heard both. But I vote snakes.
My sons always brought snakes home but never once did they bring home a snip.

11. ok, so wife won (under protest) so...
what's a snip, anyways?

should it be "snips of snails" like the OED suggests, or snips AND snails?

if we say "snips OF snails..." i think that'll really get the customers' attention.

9. I have always heard snakes
Edited on Tue Sep-20-05 10:45 PM by gwbsamoron
but I will now do a google search of both and see which returns the most hits - that will decide it for me.

On edit - I've googled it, and "snakes" gets 1,430 hits, but "snips" gets 11,500, so I guess I had it wrong and your wife was correct.

So...what the hell is a snip?
