7. I live in a old house build for Houston, very strong and not known for
flooding. I spent today laying more pipes to drain the water in to the ditch, as long as the ditches can flow we will be OK.

My house is above ground and I learned a few things from 4 years ago.

I thought off leaving but I have many friends with pets who have no wheres to go, so I will stay and hope for the best.

We will lose power I am sure, so I will come back to DU as soon as possible.

It has been 32 years since the last big hurricane so we were due one sooner or later.

I worry for the people who live the low areas that flood during normal rain, I they get out.

6. Alas, my dear enigmatic......
These storms usually gather strength over warm water...which is what you find in the Gulf......

Nice to see you tonight, BTW! :hi:

11. Thanks for the good vibes, we need them.
Galveston will be hit hard, Houston is about 50 miles.

Last big hurricane Downtown Houston took a big hit, glass windows blown out. This was 32 years ago, this is really going to be expensive. I hope nobody dies in this one.

So many homes have been build in floodplains, very close to the bayous. The bayous become rivers when they flood.

After the flood 4 years ago I had hoped common sense would have been used in building but no. Maybe this hurricane will change the attitude of just build where you want.

17. It really is making me angry
Just because one asstard claims he is from Texas, does not mean the whole state is full of asstards.
