major litle kid whine

At a buffet today I saw a little girl, about 6, take a spoon at a station, put some food in her mouth and she put the spoon back in the container where other people think these are clean spoons. Then she took a fork, tasted something else on her plate and did the same thing. I said to her, take that spoon and fork and put them on your plate and take them to your table. You don't put dirty utensils back in the containers. The brat walked away. I started looking for a parent waltzing around the food stations and didn't see anyone. The place has these clearly stated rules that no children below age 9 or something are supposed to go to the food stations without a parent. I took those dirty utensils that kid had in her mouth and gave them to a waiter. I am going to email the place about enforcing the rules about the kids.

Barf, you know? What if the kid has canker sores or a cold or worse?

I would have insisted that they take all of it to the dishwasher, and insist on clean ones.

6. I know, I thought of that too almost immediately but I was also

trying to find out where the kid went, I was holding my own plate , I actually went up to two people asking them if they had a little girl blah, blah, blah... and I kinda forgot about telling a busser to wash those utensil containers and the other utensils in them.

If this brat thinks that it is okay to lick silverware then put it back for others to use, she likely isn't getting much parenting even when her parents are physically around.

What was so interesting was I am not saying this is a bad kid. She very neatly put the spoon and fork back in their containers; she just didn't leave them on the counters or stash them in some food trays somewhere. She was very methodical about how she put the utensils back from where she got them. But kids at that age know zip about sanitation and you could just tell she was kid-clueless that others might not want her saliva and germs on their utensils.

13. Okay, you're right, but I would prefer the parents be forced to eat

off someonme else's kid's dirty plate or dirty utensils and then maybe they'd get the picture. Then again maybe I like your solution more

Letting a six year old go unattended to a serving bar is ridiculous. I would have gone to management then and there.

This kid sounds like the offspring of a brat or two. No one has time to teach her anything because they're too busy fufilling their own needs.
