Does your company offer tuition assistance as a benefit?

Mine does, but it's a measly $1500 per year. I'm a full-time graduate student, so that accounts for less than 10% of the cost of my degree.

My previous company offered TA oughtright, up to 100% for all books and tuition, if the degree was in line with company needs (like MBAs, Engineering degrees, etc).

I don't know how my current company can attract and retain talented people when nearly every competitor offers a much better package.

but then again, my employer is a university. So I get 9 credit hours a semester for free. Which actually equals an insane amount of money, since it's a private school.

3. My husband's previous company did

He used to work at a prominent Pittsburgh medical center, and they paid for 6 hours of my law school tuition each semester. It was a huge help, especially because he paid my tuition and I didn't have to have any student loans.

4. Mine is like your previous company

If the class is something that will enhance the company, we'll pay...the 2006 benefits book is supposed to come out this month, so I'll get you the current scoop when it does, but it at least used to be full reimbursement.

Since Home Depot is such a diverse company, "enhancing the company" works out to a lot of things. And they read that phrase pretty liberally--over the years a LOT of people have gone to art school courtesy of Atlanta.

7. Yes, but with conditions

You can get 100% reimbursement if you get a B or better (I think) and if you stay with the company for 24 months after completing the class. Not going to happen, for me, so I'm not using it.
