For those who don't know, I live in Texas City, and had to evacuate from Hurricane Rita. It's been an exhausting day, securing my house, packing irreplaceable items, and trying to clam three nervous foster kitties, one who'll have a litter any day now.

But what has really helped me remember that everything will be OK is how many people have asked about me, PM'd, and emailed me, plus all those who offered help, lodgings, etc. WestHoustonDem, punkondrugs, and I will be crashing at GOPisEvil's place. I can't express how relieved I feel to know where I am going, and know how many people here really care, even when they don't know you personally.

DU had brought a lot to my life already, but the concern I have witnessed the last two days has really moved me. Thanks to the admins for the existence of DU, and thanks to all the members for making it such a terrific place.
