1. Excellent! There's no other acceptable way to eat fair food!
Except on a stick.

By the way, did you happen to catch an exhibit there called the Garden Railroad?

I have a friend who does volunteer work at that place. It's a pretty cool exhibit!

2. Wow! That is a lot. You sound like my mom at the fair.
I don't know how she does it to be such a small lady!! Fried avocado? Sounds yummy. Our fair is coming in 2 weeks. I am ready for the food. I usually go with Chicken on a stick, or a corndog, and roasted corn on the cob. Yum yum yum. Can't wait!!

5. There were several more things I wanted to try,
Edited on Thu Sep-22-05 01:25 PM by gwbsamoron
but just ran out of room. On the list for next year are the Sausage on a Stick, BBQ Turkey Leg, and Ice Cold Pickle on a Stick. They have always had a Biscuits & Gravy shack, and I wanted to try it this year, but we couldn't find it.

6. Our fair has a buttery biscuit with honey booth. And
the good thing is they give them away for free!!! I have had the turkey leg and it is GOOD. So much food, so little room!

11. Secret to the corn dogs
The batter is heavily laced with mustard. Makes you thirsty. Drinks are higher profit items.

18. You're right about charging up the ass for everything...
I think I had about $180 cash in my wallet when I arrived at the fair. It was just me and my wife. I paid for our tickets with a credit card. I then WON $25 at the racetrack (on a mule race no less). I counted my money today - I have $37 cash left.

8. Surprisingly good
I think we walked so much that it burned off a lot of the calories. I, who usually get heartburn from, like, one doughnut, had no tummy troubles at all. My legs and feet sure are sore though.

14. Like I said - you cant go to the fair...
And order food that doesnt come on a stick. That would be like going to an Italian restaraunt and ordering a cheeseburger instead of pasta.

12. Fair food for me means
doughboys, bloomin onions, and fudge all washed down with a strawberry smoothie.

15. I love the blooming onions.
Haven't had that in a few years. I didn't include fudge on my list because we didn't actually eat any yesterday - but, we bought a pound to take home of yummy Mackinac Island Fudge. I had some with my lunch today.

17. We always had to buy a ton of it cause no one liked all the same
kind. Dad got the grasshopper stuff (which I now enjoy too), mom loved the penuche and divinity, and my bro and I liked chocolate and peanut butter.
