7. Ah shit.
I missed that.

Guess that means it's been so long since I've seen that movie, that'd it'd be worth renting again.

4. Once I have a job, I'll no longer feel compelled to spend hours
each day tailoring my cover letter and resume for a position and sending it to some hr fuck who will ignore it. Also I'll be getting paid money for my frustrations.

12. No. Sometimes I say,
HE IS A DISCIPLE OF AYN RAND!

and then I post this picture:

But that's only in threads about Alan Greenspan that can't be answered with a simple

hand jive

6. as a fellow member of the society
I reccomend the following:

1: take up running
2: keep your friends, you need social contact
3: thank your deity of choice that you aren't from New Orleans

not to be flippant, but the third is to help you remember that is could be worse.

Gratitude checks are important regardless of what one is doing.

Went for a good 5Ker after about losing it earlier. Endorphins do wonders.

11. Think of job hunting as a buffet
You get a small sample of lots of different workplaces, which if you had all you can eat every day you'd be quickly sick of. I look back on my past interviews and heave a huge sigh of relief that none of them hired me. It took a few years but I finally got a good one. Hang in there. It's out there.

14. Don't care too much about getting the job & look at interviews as practice
Each interview is sort of a game and a sort of practice for getting the BEST job.

My brother who is the world's best job interviewee (he always got hired despite having a horrible job history) loved the attention - it was his chance to go in and have people paying lots of attention to him. He thought it was fun.

17. Bear in mind, in a kindly sort of way,
that you will be doing them a favour, as well. It'll give you a healthy confidence.
