Here's a tip: when you call in sick from work...
and leave a voicemail for your boss, make sure your buddy can't be heard in the background asking if you want another beer.

What a dumbass.

1. Who's the dumbass?
You, or your employee?

7. Let me rephrase.
Are you the employer or the employee? Or the buddy?

3. Unless the guy was really sick, and his roommate was being a jerk...
I'd be kind of suspicious about the beer comment if the call was made in the morning, unless I knew the guy was an alcoholic.

4. And what if the roomie was talking to someone else?
It is possible, probably not likely, but still...

5. Well, he's married, has a 3-year old kid
so I can only suspect that one of his friends is visiting.

Very weird. Sick time or leave, it really doesn't matter. All he had to do is ask.

16. Since the Cubs games are on during the day - tons of people call in sick.
I've done it a couple of times myself. Tickets used to hard to come by - so if you get tickets - you would call in.

Every so often - you would hear of someone who would get busted by running into someone from work at the games. But this guy was in the paper so it was pretty funny.
