1. I spoke to her on the phone earlier this afternoon

She was well out of Houston and as she put it, out in the middle of nowhere...at least 3 hours further inland of Houston. She, her husband, children and critters are all safe.

She will likely lose her home, but she said the important stuff was not going to get lost!

5. I read her last few posts, they haunted me till now.

Thanks for the update. I do not know her, hell I do not know any of you people. Yet, her posts have been in my thoughts all day. Her last words in one of those posts was: "Rita is heading right for my home!" Each time I see the updates from Rita I hope for the projected path to veer further east, sparing Galveston. It is good to know that she and her loved ones are doing well under the circumstances. Thank you again for the update.
