Who here uses Google as a spellchecker?

Case in point: I wasn't sure whether "Ray Conniff" was written with a double n, a double f, or both. Spell checking would be worthless in this situation. (Try it -- it suggests "Ray Conni ff", with a space. WTF?) So I just entered the name in Google.

Quite often, Google responds "You meant..." followed by the correct spelling. Either that, or the correct spelling has much more hits than the incorrect one(s).

I do it for the simple reason... It guesses at spellings.

Also, I'm comforted by how darn many people out there
have spelled the word incorrectly... Just like me.

I use IMDB for movies, actors, and such.

It's more focused and I'm usually rewarded with
TMI Trivia to clutter my already limited attention span.

I also will click 'reply' right here on DU and use it sometimes. I'll use whatever resources are available...my brain has pretty well turned to oatmeal of late. :D
