I got to thinking while I was riding the stationary bike at the gym.....

It seems as though most threads receive many responses from lots of people...

But now and then, you see one that has turned into a private conversation between two people.....and no-one else intrudes.....

I wonder why this happens......discuss............

1. Yeah. I've seen threads that look like it's just a conversation and kept

out of them before. I don't respond because I feel like it would change the flow of the thread and I don't want to get in the way.
Or it looks like an inside joke and I'm not in on it so I figure it's best to move on.

4. Sometimes I just know that my opinion could spark an unintended

flamewar so I stay out then too. I don't have the energy to spend defending my post when the misunderstanding becomes about semantics more than the issue at hand. Or the "this person SUCKS now" threads....yeesh. I always want to bust into those but I rarely do.

I'm at my gym, and though there are TV's, I have no control over them...

Although today, football was on, and I found myself watching the game...

Northwestern vs. Iowa, I think....It caught my eye since my dad went to Northwestern ...and I wondered if they were playing today in Dike Stadium...we used to live next door.....

I had a good ride, fast and long......felt pumped.....

16. I think that is the way it works

most people, once they get to DU, first check their 'my posts' and respond to some of their responses. Then we go read threadlines in various places - lounge, GD, local, groups, or look at the latest or the greatest.

Therefore the person you answer is the most likely person to answer you back because they read your response in their 'my posts' whereas many other people probably will not even see your (or my) response.

However, when you say most threads receive many responses from lots of people, you must mean threads that are not started by me. Those threads drop like stones.

As for the conversations, yeah, I see that sometimes. I guess no one really intrudes because they have nothing to say in response to the private conversation and don't want to interrupt.

23. I don't have electricity at my trailer yet, so I am staying with Sis &

her husband still.

Winston is at the vets. He has a fractured pelvis and some type of facial/head injury. Because he was so shocky, they did the body x-rays and not a head x-ray. He was in pain and not very stable, so they didn't want to push thing.

He will have surgery next week, they will repair one hip, x-ray his head to determine the injuries to his head and then let him heal. Then they will decide what to do about the head/facial injury and will repair the other hip in a later surgery.

Just keep him in your prayers. He is such a sweet little guy, full of love. :-(
