subscriptions?

One just pounded on my door at 9:10 pm. Does that not seem just a bit late to try to scam people into buying a subscription?

2. That is really late
I always hated how they would try to coerce us in school with prizes to go sell their crap.

3. I am reading this is some scam, they get the kids to do.
I sort of felt bad for the kid. They shouldn't have him knocking on doors after 9.

6. total scam
The schools get a very small % of the profit and the companies get free labor with a "how can you turn me down look on their face" to peddle their crap. Just awful they are brought in by the public school systems to do this.

4. Police Warn of Door-to-Door Magazine Sales Scam
Do they have a license to do that in your city, especially at that time of night?

5. I was reading something like that on another site.
It is ashamed they exploit the kids like that.

This one said the same thing others have said that have knocked on my door around here, he is trying to work on his "people skills". He said there were other kids in the neighborhood doing the same. I was probably pretty curt with the kid, but they shouldn't have had him knocking on doors past 9 pm. Really, that should be done in daylight.

7. The magazines are spectacularly overpriced.
The price from the door-to-door scammers is probably three times what you'd pay for them otherwise.

"But you don't have to read them. You can give them to hospitals."

Whatever. I have to close the door on them. I'm sorry that the kids going door-to-door are victims, but there's nothing I can do about that.

9. Recent complaints....
"Recent complaints have centered on two Georgia companies, United Family Circulation and Ultimate Power Sales Inc., a subsidiary. Last year, Montgomery County police said residents in Chevy Chase had been asked to buy books from salespeople who falsely claimed to be collecting for charity on behalf of a University of Maryland athletic team. Buyers said they were asked to make checks out to Ultimate Power Sales."

11. I am in Orlando now.
I used to live near there as a kid. The stuff must be going on everywhere. I am sure it is the same companies doing this. I read the kids work their asses off for 20 bucks.

12. I hope these kids don't get their asses kicked.
Some people just need the little provocation of having their door knocked on after 9 to fly off the handle.
