4. Yard saling.
Bunch of overpriced junk. Fortunately, I scavenged a CD player and a power strip, intended to control power for a computer, monitor, printer, and whatnot, for free in the aftermath of a yard sale.

7. A pretty good day.
Except one of my neighbors was blasting with dynamite. No shit. Kind of weird watching Cindy and having a small war going on with the windows shaking.

Sujuk is an Armenian grape/walnut candy my grandmother used to make. I'm thinking about making it for a business I might start. I probably shouldn't even say that. It's just a thought.

And biking. I've got the most fantastic trail that goes through a forest behind my place.

Apple juice would be nice right about now.

13. Dynamite??
Damn, thought the people target practicing a few miles north on BLM land was bad!!

That Sujuk candy sounds yummy!! Good luck on the business that you might start!

Having a forrest behind your place sounds lovely! All we have around here is BLM land with a lot of oil well sites. However we still love to hit the trails on the land with our atv's.

The apple juice is yummy, a little too sweet, (a little much on the raw sugar!) however just cut it with a little water and it is just perfect!

Glad that you has a good day!! :hi:

17. They're building logging roads. :(
Edited on Sat Sep-24-05 09:57 PM by Gregorian
The dynamite is someone who has a quarry. They don't use it except now that the logging is going crazy. They rock the roads and come in and shred the place of all living things. Kind of what Bush likes. It's rather upsetting, really. But all in all, how can one complain.

BLM is where I ride, too. Different kind of blm land though.

8. My laptop crashed.
I mowed my dad's lawn, cleaned my house, then sat down to cruise the internets.

Booted up, and the screen froze. DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!

I've dusted off the old box out of the closet & surprise! It still works.

18. Listened to the wind...
kick up and up and up over the course of the day, blowing about 40-50 miles an hour, and sending doo-dads flying around the back yard.

Had the power kick out multiple times, but in the meantime I managed to get about half a chapter written on one of great grand uncles (including the Civil War research) on the family history I'm writing. (I saved the file. A LOT.)

19. Caught up on some sleep...
(seriously LONG week), then got on a bike for the first time since I was a kid -- 16 years to be exact! Amazingly enough, I didn't fall off...guess you really don't forget. So, on Monday, I'm planning to start biking to work on the days that I only have to go to campus.

Then I hit Kohls and snagged some nice work-type clothes pretty cheap, and now I'm just chillin'. :-)

28. I did good stuff and bad stuff
I did my daily walking, did abs exercises, curls etc. I decided not to go to the tanning salon today as I got a bit too much last nite and am still red on my chest. I'm on a diet so I'm craving everything under the sun but am doing pretty good nevertheless. I have been drinking some good chardonnay the last couple of hours. Not a bad day all in all.

35. Checked in with DU
Read the paper, checked in with DU, watched the protest on C-SPAN, took my mom shoe shopping, went to the grocery store, got gas ($2.79/gal), checked in with DU where someone mentioned "JFK" was on the TV like right now so had to log off and go watch it. I'd never seen it, so a big "Thank You" to whoever mentioned it. :)

36. I saw Elton John @ Madison Square Garden - WONDERFUL!
He is so talented, and a great vocal performer, yet humble at the same time - I felt as though he was being honest when he said to us before giving us a second encore, "you are the best!" and I blurted, "No, Elton, YOU are!" It was amazing seeing the guy who (among a handful of others) has given me the soundtrack to my life.

This performance was part of his Peachtree Road Tour and I recommend it to anyone who like Elton John and wants to see him perform at least once in their life. :)

because it was my birthday (yawn). I graded quizzes (I'm a teacher), watched some of the protest on C-Span, read a few chapters in a book and did some more painting in my house. Afterward, I just laid back and enjoyed a quiet evening.

Edited on Sun Sep-25-05 09:27 AM by Tripper11
Then we went to a friend of my wife's from work to pick up an entertainment center, back to our house for a computer monitor. Then it was off to Seattle to drop the items off at another co-workers of my wife whose Mom lost everything in Katrina and is starting her life over here in Seattle.
She'll be living in their basement, very nice bright basement they have repainted and furnished for her.
She arrives next Friday and I have a feeling will have everything and more to get her rolling.

44. Yesterday I took my daughter to work, picked up some groceries,
did laundry, and spent the afternoon making pumpkin pie and homemade spaghetti sauce.

Last night, we fed the kids early and put them to bed, then we had our supper, watched a few Food Network specials on diners, and rounded out the evening by watching Van Helsing.
