something happens I never thought would happen - I am throwing out books from my bookshelves. I won't throw them away but give them to the public library.

That's a great idea! We have LOTS of books here at my house too...mostly ones from school. When you're working on your Doctorate, you collect so many books it's unbelieveable!

4. It's actually my husband who's working on his Doctorate...

His ultimate goal is to be a professor. It seems like he collects a hundred books every semester! Soon, I don't know WHERE we're going to put them all!

9. Es war ein typischer Tag

Am Freitag Abend habe ich meine Familie besucht und meinen Geburtstag gefeiert. Am Samstag, habe ich die Vokabulärquiz meiner Schüler benotet. Dann sah ich den Kriegsprotest am Fernsehen an, ein Bißchen mehr meiner Wohnung gestrichen, ein paar Kapiteln in einem Buch gelesen, usw. Nichts interessant, der Tag war rühig und das gefiel mir.

Am Freitag bekam ich drei Kuchen von meinen Schüler und einen vierten von meiner Nichte. Mein Gott im Himmel, wie kann ich so viele essen?!? Mein Kühlschrank ist jetzt voll. Darf ich Dir einen Kuchen verschicken, lol?

5. Howdy Clintmax

It appears that there are only a few of us up early this Sunday morning, so I thought I would return your greetings.

In this thread I see that you are working on a doctorate. In which field are you studying? I earned my Ph.D. in 2000 in the field of history. I have so many books I can't count them all and the number is still growing. I have no more shelves, closets, etc so I am stacking them along the wall. I just do not have the heart to part with them all.
