4. I am a former Marine and am now 42- no tattoo's at all.

I guess I have been satisfied with the way I look and don't want any distinguishing marks on my body. ( In case I decide to take up a life of crime!)

up the four scars I got from an abusive first marriage. I could look at them and remember how I got them for the rest of my life, or look at two yellow roses, one pink rose, and a small white bird. I'm much happier with the tattoos.

look through their catalogs. Pick something out and then go home and think about it for a month or three. When you're ready you will get it--or not!

The wall I speak of is the wall of the tattoo shop.

When you go to a tattoo shop, you'll find that every wall is covered with "flash"--drawings of potential tattoos. This is what 90 percent of the people who have tattoos in this town get. And it's probably what 90 percent of the people who have tattoos in your town get.

Flash has one massive problem: five thousand people in the world are going to have your tattoo, and eventually you're going to meet one of them.

If you have a friend who's an artist, have your friend draw something on a sheet of paper and bring it in. A tattoo artist will turn it into something tattooable for not all that much money. Get that tattooed onto you and you'll have a piece that's totally unique.
